SROVA Remote

SROVA Remote is a companion Android application for controlling user-owned SROVA music players over a local network.
SROVA Remote is developed and published by Sasha Masand under the SROVA name. This policy explains how the SROVA Remote Android application accesses, stores and transmits information.
SROVA Remote does not require a separate SROVA account.
SROVA Remote stores the names and network addresses of SROVA players added by the user. This information remains in the app’s private storage on the Android device and is not sent to the SROVA developer.
The embedded SROVA web interface may store cookies, local storage, session information and cached website data required by the connected SROVA player and services selected by the user.
Android cloud backup is disabled for SROVA Remote.
SROVA Remote communicates with the SROVA player address entered
by the user. A typical address is
http://192.168.1.50:8081.
Local HTTP connections are not encrypted. Users should connect only to SROVA players on networks they trust. HTTPS connections, where configured, are encrypted in transit.
The app may retrieve playback status, track information and cover artwork from the selected SROVA player and may send playback-control commands to it.
TIDAL use is optional. TIDAL authentication takes place through TIDAL’s browser-based sign-in process. SROVA Remote does not receive or store the user’s TIDAL password.
The connected SROVA player or its embedded web interface may communicate with music, artwork, metadata, radio, lyrics or scrobbling services selected and configured by the user. Those services operate under their own privacy policies.
SROVA Remote includes the Google Cast SDK for the optional passive Now Playing display feature.
Google states that the Cast SDK automatically collects anonymous information about Cast discovery, Cast sessions, mobile-device information, client-app information and interactions with Cast devices.
Google states that this information is encrypted in transit, used in aggregate to monitor Cast SDK adoption and performance and to detect software defects, and is not used to model the behaviour of an identifiable user.
Google states that the logs do not contain identifiers that can be traced to a specific user, are retained only for a short period before aggregation and deletion, and are not shared with third parties.
Neither the SROVA developer nor the user can opt out of or delete information automatically collected by the Cast SDK. The SROVA developer does not receive or store this telemetry.
SROVA Remote contains no advertising and does not sell personal information.
SROVA Remote limits saved application information to private Android app storage and disables Android backup. The app does not operate a developer-controlled account database or analytics service.
Users are responsible for securing their local network and SROVA player. Local HTTP traffic can be observed by other parties with access to that network.
Saved SROVA target names and addresses remain on the Android device until the user deletes them, clears the app’s storage or uninstalls SROVA Remote.
Because SROVA Remote does not create a SROVA account, there is no developer-held SROVA Remote account or associated account data to delete.
Anonymous information collected by the Google Cast SDK is controlled by Google and cannot be accessed or deleted by the SROVA developer.
SROVA Remote is intended for adult owners and operators of SROVA music-player systems. It is not directed towards children under 18.
This policy may be updated when SROVA Remote’s features, SDKs or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
